Welding Appreciation For Managers
There are many different skills and techniques within the scope of hot working of metals in the broad skill field of welding. Each one of the many and varied welding techniques calls for some specialised skills and each one has its own set of significant risks attached. This course is offered at our Technology Training Centre in Aston, Birmingham.
Course content
During this course the delegates will carry out the following:
- H&S Safety hazards relating to the MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG, Plasma and Oxy/Fuel cutting and welding processes
- General fusion welding and cutting theory, covering all of the above processes
- Weld defects
- Specific H&S responsibilities of managers and supervisors of welders
Pre-requisites
Delegates do not require any previous experience of Oxy/Acetylene cutting.
Assessment
Whilst there is no formal assessment on this course, delegates will need to demonstrate a basic working knowledge and of a wide range of welding and thermal cutting techniques. Observational feedback on delegates will be given by the instructor and, on successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a certificate of attendance. Performance feedback can be provided to the Customer if required.
