National Manufacturing Day is an opportunity for manufacturers to showcase the range of highly skilled and well-paid jobs they have on offer by throwing open their doors in a UK wide Open House on Thursday 26th September 2024.

Local communities will have the chance to see the potential careers and jobs on offer within our wonderfully diverse manufacturing sector – there are career opportunities for school leavers, graduates and people looking to reskill at all levels. Make UK is working with Government and details of the companies taking part in National Manufacturing Day will be circulated to every jobcentre across the UK and into all of our schools.

We will be demonstrating the value of a manufacturing apprenticeship as an alternative route post school/college, and we will promote these opportunities to women and other minority groups, helping to attract new talent for businesses looking to develop their future skills pipeline. National Manufacturing Day will be a celebration of all of our sub sectors including automotive, food and drink, aerospace, defence, chemical and pharma.

National Manufacturing Day will help show the reality of modern manufacturing careers, looking to engage with students, parents, teachers, community leaders and local residents. By holding a National Manufacturing Day event, you’ll not only join hundreds of other hosts in showcasing modern manufacturing jobs and technologies but also highlight the benefits that manufacturing provides to your community and the country as a whole.

On 26th September Manufacturers will be opening the doors to their factories and sites all across the UK.
