NEBOSH Certificate Overview

The NEBOSH National General Certificate is the most widely recognised health and safety qualification of its kind. The nationally recognised course gives learners everything they need know and do to make their workplace safer.

The NGC is a well-respected health and safety qualification; more than 80% of UK employers ask for a NEBOSH qualification when they are recruiting for health and safety roles. The syllabus is designed to give candidates the knowledge, skills and understanding so that they can effectively manage health and safety. Specifically, it covers the UK’s key legal requirements, to aid compliance, how to identify and control common workplace hazards, and how to measure success. Upon completion of the NEBOSH General Certificate course, successful learners will be able to confidently carry out risk assessments, manage and minimise workplace risks, and support a business-wide health and safety culture.

The course is suitable for safety managers, line managers, supervisors, and anybody with safety management responsibilities. It’s also perfect for those embarking on a health and safety career and can lead to further qualifications such as the NEBOSH National Diploma, the flagship NEBOSH qualification.

The NEBOSH course was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The tutors were great and delivered the entire course content in a clear, structured and engaging manner. Not only were they my tutors but they also mentored me, ensuring I was equipped to return to work with a thorough understanding of my obligations and responsibilities to occupational health, safety and wellbeing. It was more than a course, it was about creating and instilling a mindset, allowing me to learn, grow and adopt the safety culture that NEBOSH is internationally renowned for.
