Mock Employment Tribunal
In this half day session aimed at HR professionals and Managers who are required to attend an employment tribunal, delegates will learn with a legal expert, an overview of the Employment Tribunal process including demystifying the language used by lawyers and tribunal staff. From a practical level delegates will understand the role they will play in the tribunal and the difference they can make.
This session will guide managers who are attending a tribunal to recognise and avoid the pitfalls that come into play during an employment tribunal.

Course content
- Overview of employment tribunals; the life of an ET case, the structure of a hearing and preparatory steps for the full merits hearing
- Familiarisation with bundles and witness statements
- The roles of the judge, clerk, parties and their representatives
- Observation of evidence given at tribunals by witnesses
- Practical experience and analysis of giving evidence and cross examination
- A summary of key points for preparing for hearings including the challenges of using technology
