In this half day course aimed at Managers and Supervisors, delegates will learn about the process and policy application of managing a grievance case, from investigation through to the appeal stages. Delegates will learn about employment law, and the challenges managers face when dealing with grievance incidents in the workplace.

  • What is a grievance?
  • Understanding why people submit a grievance (and why they don’t!)
  • Managing the grievance process both informally and formally (investigations, grievance hearings and appeals)
  • What can go wrong?
  • Essential skills for dealing with a grievance
  • Appeals - remedies and resolutions

By completing this course, delegates will be able to:

Better manage grievances by understanding the structure of effective grievance handling, the skills required and how to produce a suitable outcome.
