Conducting Successful Meetings
Aimed at front line managers and supervisors, this course will act as a refresher to delegates on the necessary knowledge and skills needed to manage discipline cases effectively. Delegates will be updated on the law and its importance during disciplinary matters, the difference between ‘misconduct’ and ‘gross misconduct’ and how to act ‘reasonably’. They will also learn how to carry out a formal disciplinary hearing and the importance of a sound investigation and the role and importance of the appeal process.

- How to plan and conduct meetings so they start and finish on time
- The different types of agenda and appropriate use
- Developing confidence when chairing meetings with external agencies and senior managers
- Hosting meetings and controlling participants to ensure the right decisions are made
- ‘group dynamics’ to understand and accommodate the strengths and weaknesses of different types of participants
- The purpose of minutes and action plans to enable follow up and commitment
- Evaluating meetings to maximise efficiency and effectiveness
- Personal action planning to increase influence and personal effectiveness at meetings
